From our board chair Shay:
"We've been consulting with the State Health Department. We are currently only providing services outside. Volunteers are wearing nitrile gloves and a few have masks but there are not enough masks for everyone who has a cough. We are disinfecting the bathroom after each use, disinfecting all surfaces, minimizing the touching of items, using disposable plates and cutlery and using a new cup each time someone wants a coffee. We are trying to keep clients a safe distance from each other. We are giving out flyers that explain COVID-19 because many of our clients are not 'health literate' and do not understand what this virus is or what the risks are. We are encouraging hand washing at every opportunity. We are discouraging hugging, touching, sharing cigarettes, etc. We have hand sanitizer everywhere."
Please continue to send donations. If you have cloth masks to donate, please bring them by Monday, Wednesday, or Friday. Soap is always welcome.
