Thank You, Volunteers!

Dear Friends, Volunteers, and Supporters,

We have recieved many generous and heartfelt donations the last six months. The pandemic has been particularly hard on homeless and food-insecure families. Thank you to all our volunteers and supporters. Our work is possible because of you.

Here are some of the highlights!

The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints

We had a fantastic donation of 1,300 sq. feet of commercial new carpeting left over from the federal court house facilitated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. The carpet was donated by Floor Tech in Albuquerque. Thank you! Our clients will love the new look. Details soon!

Socorro Police Department

Detective Angel Garcia of the Socorro Police Department responded to a nearby call and helped us move the donated carpet into our storage container. Thank you, Angel!

Tau Beta Pi

Casper Huang of Tau Beta Pi will be holding a food drive over the holiday season. Please support Casper in his efforts to help Puerto Seguro. Thank you, Casper!

The Relief Society

The LCD of JC women's group, the Relief Society, provided Stockings from the Savior to be distributed over the holidays. This is their second annual event. Last year, the stockings brought great joy to our clients. This year will be even better! Thank you.

Kathy, Darla, and Ruben

Also, a big thank to our director, Kathy, our director's assistant, Darla, and our facility manager, Ruben, for volunteering to come in on Christmas day. Together, they will give away stockings and candy canes to our clients. We cannot thank them enough for spending their holiday with us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

LDS Church Elders

Many thanks to the elders of the LDS church for coming in each Thursday to help keep our building organized, make food bags, prep hygiene kits, sort our freezers, and generally keep things in top shape. Your work is indespensible to Puerto Seguro.

Anonymous Donors

To the several anonymous community members who have been keeping our pantry stocked with ready-to-eat foods for our emergency food bags, we thank you! We've been giving out between 30-50 food bags a week, entirely made from these donated items. We have also had donors supply everything from tents to hygiene supplies. Even our entire Thanksgiving dinner served on the 25th of November will be from donations.

To all our friends, volunteers, and supporters, much love and gratitude to you all!
